PHILADELPHIA — Experts in the fields of endocrinology, cardiology, and nephrology will convene at the 3rd Annual Heart in Diabetes conference, held July 12 to 14, 2019, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to discuss the latest data from major cardiovascular outcome trials and best practices to implement changing clinical practice guidelines into everyday care.
An expected 400 attendees will participate in sessions focused on managing cardiometabolic disorders that require multidisciplinary care. To reduce mortality in high-risk patients with diabetes, kidney, liver, and/or cardiovascular disorders, “cardiologists, endocrinologists and nephrologists must work together with primary care physicians to implement appropriate management plans,” said Yehuda Handelsman, MD, FACP, FACE, medical director and principal investigator of the Metabolic Institute of America and chair of the Heart in Diabetes conference.
Strengthening this dialogue between specialists and primary care clinicians will be a major focus of the conference. Sessions will also encourage discourse between clinical researchers and clinicians.
New to the conference this year is a showcase of clinical research posters to be presented at the meeting and simultaneously published in Clinical Cardiology. For more information, visit the Heart in Diabetes conference website.
