What Tests Should I Request to Confirm My Clinical Dx? In addition, what follow-up tests might be useful?

  • Elevated total bilirubin

  • Elevated indirect (unconjugated) bilirubin

  • No evidence of hemolysis related process

  • Type 1 markedly elevated persistent levels of total bilirubin manifesting in the newborn

  • Type 2 manifests later in life with less markedly elevated levels of total bilirubin
